Where Does the Time Go?

It was one year ago today that "My Confessions" began.  It wasn't my first blog attempt.  I'd failed several times before.  I think the key to my sticking with it has been in finally identifying the perspective that is unique to me.  I finally found what it is that I have that is not only rare, but may be of benefit to others.  If you are reading, you have my thanks.  I am truly honored to have you with me on the journey.  I don't take your presence lightly, nor do I take it for granted. 

This blog remains my "message in a bottle" to those who have loved ones with Autism, Tourettes, OCD, Clinical Depression, or a myriad of other neurological issues where the "first person view" is often the hardest thing for loved ones and caregivers to acquire.  It's the one thing that I believe I have to give to parents, who like me, have found themselves in a place they never planned.  I try to give my readers "permission".  Crying is allowed, as is laughing.  Tragedy and comedy are equally part of the package and should be equally experienced without guilt. 

I'm going go close this brief celebration with a few interesting stats.  For me interesting is an understatement.  I remain shocked that anyone reads at all.

• "Confessions" has been read 2,860 times in the past year.
• Judging from recent traffic levels, there are about 100 regular readers.
• There are regular readers in 10 countries.
• My critique of the show Parenthood remains my most read entry, but is followed by a close second and third between Meltdown!! and A Mind with a Mind of Its Own.

In closing, I have a "birthday request" from you my dear readers.  I'd like to "meet you virtually".  On this, "Confessions'" first anniversary.  Leave me a comment.  You have my word that I'll never make use of the contact beyond a quick read and silent appreciation.  I'm always happy to answer questions.
